Sustainability is at the centre of the French and Swedish architecture office Erik Giudice Architects, who have made it their trademark to develop unique and resource efficient buildings. They argue that it is crucial to tie sustainability to the versatility of buildings. To be sustainable, the architecture needs to manage not just today’s users, but reckon in all future ones as well. A decisive question is to what extent it is possible to rebuild and adapt the architecture over time. Buildings should be able to stand, while they at the same time should manage to constantly be active.
In the book, EGA’s foremost works are presented in-depth, with images, drawings and sketches. It is buildings that challenge their times and manage to change and respond to the needs that one day will be.
